Hi Jac
I've been keeping my head above water so far mainly because I had a good November and December, following Nicky Henderson and Twiston Davies, and then Kauto Star topped me up nicely at Christmas. I've only had 3 or 4 bets since Christmas, for which I'm showing a profit so far but I'm more or less keeping my powder dry for Cheltenham, the greatest meeting of them all, even though I'm a Flat lover at heart.

As you know, Kasbah Bliss is my nap of the meeting, the only worry being his jockey. I still get nightmares when I think about Machiavellian in the 2000 Guineas in 1990 (Freddie Head, thankfully he's a better trainer than he was a jockey!) and Thulliez's idiotic ride on Six Perfections in the 1000 Guineas a few years back. I don't trust those Frogs as far as I'd throw them!
If Pieux does everything right then Kasbah Bliss will win.

Whiteoak looks the business for the David Nicholson, her run at Wincanton last Saturday was excellent and she should be spot on for the race she won last year.

But the best bets of all are in the Cross Country Chase. This will be won by either Garde Champetre or L'Ami. I'd recommend going in large and having a split stake win on both horses at 4/1 and 7/2 respectively.
Enda Bolger is the master when it comes to this race and both horses have such good form over the Cross Country course it's impossible to see anything else winning.

Hello Jac..
Yes I`m in profit and can see out the rest of the season without a winner & still be in profit..

Sounds good, Well it was all down to a fluke I must admit..

A month ago on a late saturday night I was sitting at the kitchen table with my better half.we have the local evening paper delivered which gives the runners, trainers, riders of the next day racing.Basically that is all the paper gives, no form guide just runers, trainers, riders.Any way to cut a long story short...
We were sitting there my missus was yapping in my lughole about stuff that went straight out of my other lughole as usual.
I glanced at the racing section and decided to have a punt on the sunday..I chose the first four at a minor jumps meeting ( i didnt even recognise any of the horses) & wrote a lucky 15 out.I asked the missus to place the bet on Sunday as I had to leave early in the morning.and wouldnt be near a bookies..I arrived home & caught the last race which my selection won. then I checked the teletext ( btw my puter was on the blink) to see that the other three had won..I took a sizable amount from the bookies (well a sizable amount in my books)
I also took some of my winnings & placed on the 5th & 6th race runners the 5th won @ odds on the 6th unplaced..

Pure fluke but it paid for my season of backing.

Edit: The Chelt Fest is too early to call for me, but I usally do well, keep an eye open for my posts nearer the meeting..

MUIRHEAD (backed 66-1 ew) HURRICANE FLY (backed 33-1 ew) in the Champion Hurdle cos I like they way they run and the races they have done. I cannot have Binocular as I still believe he will be nowhere near his rating on a course he wont act too well on.

NEPTUNE COLLONGES (12-1 ew) for the Gold Cup because as I have been banging on for months about, he is where the other two were at his age. It now looks as if Denman will not be fit enough so is looking even better AND the trainer admits he will run close.....remember you heard it here first, long before he fell in his penultimate race...Get on!!

Oops..nearly forgot, probably a bit in the debit side this season, not due to reasons you have stated, more to do with having a punt after a few pints !!

Hi Jac,As much as Id like to say im in profit over the jumps,Im not.Reasons being are exactly what youve stated,Abandonments and Big horses still being taken out.

As for my Cheltenham tips,I was going to lump on Hardy Eustace, but his trainer says hes unlikely to run.For the champion im on SONGE and then SNAP TIE(E/W).For the gold cup EXOTIC DANCER(E/W) and NEPTUNE COLLONGES after his great Irish Hennessy.Only the arkle left Id like to pick on now,TARTAK ran a great race last time out and at long odds he can seriously spring an upset over TATENEN(The Paul Nichols Fav)

Kezza x

Edit:DEE EE WILLIAMS(Champion Hurdle)will deinitely not win,he must overcome some of the best hurdelers on the planet in katchit and binocular etc,and he has to put 2 bad runs behind him, also any idea where ALFIE FLITS will go at the festival?
